Portrait of the Past

These old kerosene tins I collected and drilled holes into the surface to create an illusion of a picture frame. The central tin was found with an oval opening, and the ceramic face was found broken and in scattered pieces. I collected them up at Kirkalocka station in the north west of W.A. at the property’s ‘virgin’ tip site. It was a sculpture camp for W.A.C.I.T. Advanced Diploma students and lots of fun creating from found materials. 2012
